Spring Break? What's That?

"Spring break" seems to be something college kids and under get. I don't know what it is since my work schedule still had me every day on CLU's week off. Oh well.

Work has been challenging. The autistic student I work with has severe anxiety lately even though he's caught up with all of his daily assignments. He tries to put off tests and recordings and then it piles up. When I ask him to do something, he refuses and his mom has to tell him repeatedly to do ask he's asked. I don't know when his anxiety will cease but I hope it's... um, now.

I went to Chino last weekend and it was a nice mini-vacation, even though we didn't necessarily relax anywhere. We went apartment hunting Saturday and found a nice starter place, all utilities included, month to month, and the owners are SO nice - that was a big deal for us. We've submitted all of our paperwork and are now waiting for her to let us know what the verdict is. Keep the prayers and good thoughts coming!

On Sunday Michael was able to finish a cinema project for a friend of his named Roclynn. She's a model and wanted a promotional video so Mike helped her out. Here's the finished product! It's so awesome! Roclynn's Promotional Video.

It was pouring rain and made the drive home interesting. I like rain but it's scary to drive in. So far this week I've just been applying for jobs and working. I was going to run yesterday but fell asleep instead. Whoops.

Please keep Laura and Cameron Morrissette in your prayers. Laura had to deliver her Evelyn Rose prematurely. She's a fighter and is doing well and gaining weight.

Don't rock the boat, baby.

Update for the rest of this past week:

The family I tutor for Wednesday evenings is SO great. I love that the mom, who is a stay at home mom, is so involved with her kids' school and fund-raising activities. The kids are smart and very polite and have adorable orange/blonde hair. She reminds me of my mom. I also hope to instill morals and values into my kids that will make their lives better and do all I can for them <3 We're so excited to have kids! But I know we need to get settled first (don't worry ;P haha).

My sister and I set the date for my bridal shower: April 9th! Ladies, mark your calendars :) I'm dying to plan things myself, but I know the girls are excited to do that, so I just forwarded them some fun ideas. I'm so grateful for a sister who takes time off of work to share this special time with me.

Michael and I have been job hunting for me a lot this weekend, so I have a lot to apply for. I know I'll find a job, I just really hope it's one I feel fulfilled by and look forward to going to every day. I've worked this hard to get this far, it's time I start to move on up.

This weekend was the last session of our Sunday school class about Strengthening Marriage, so I'll be visiting Chino more again and Michael won't have to drive so much.  The Lukes, who taught the class, were also released today as the YSA Ward Advisors. You two will be missed! The class was fantastic, thank you.

I organized a baby shower for Vasty Pearson on Saturday and it was awesome. I love event planning - another future side hobby perhaps. We also took a few memorable photos beforehand :)

Ashley Jensen and I are so proud of our diaper cake! <3
She got the CUTEST diaper bag from her neighbor who makes them and sells them on Etsy: Twirlybirdbaby.etsy.com
Michael and I have also been apartment hunting and are close to finding something within our means and closer to his work. I know it'll be a HUGE relief for him to not have to drive 2+ hours every day to and from Newport Beach. I can't wait for him to have that relief and to have our own first place!! We're extremely excited to start our lives together, being able to see each other every day (!!) and share and support each other's dreams.

Here are some fun photos I took of things that caught my eye. I love bird houses and unique-looking perspectives.

I haven't had the time to spend on this like I usually do, which I guess is a good thing. But it's also been a stressful few weeks. I finally finished all of my interviews and the rough draft of chapter 4 of my thesis, so that's a load off of my shoulders. Looking at the final 2 chapters, I feel a lot better since those are easiest. I'll be even happier when I turn in a finished product in 1.5 months and get to more fully enjoy our engagement :)

I miss working at BGC because I had much more influence on more kids and we were able to play together and enjoy time outside. While I know I fill a necessary role at my Moorpark job and it is challenging to keep up with the boys' work, I think I'll make some time afterward to go visit the BGC kids more because they're adorable and fun.

A few apartment options have opened up for Michael and I so we're crossing our fingers. Our budget is tight but I know we'll find something that fits us.

A few of us saw that Vasty wasn't planning on having a baby shower, so I was able to throw something together with the help of Ashley, Stacey, Sister Anderson, and a few other awesome ladies. It should be awesome! I've only ever been to one other baby shower and it was so cute and fun. I'm also very excited for my bridal shower(s?) my sister and friends are planning. I can't help but plan a little too because it's so fun for me, it's like my stress reliever. Another thing to add to the list of my future dreams and aspirations:

1 - Start a family
2 - Own my own bakery
3 - Have my own event planning/photography/custom designed product business

We took pictures of the Burr boys last weekend around High Street in Moorpark. Here are some of the unedited fun ones.
